I am a graduate, musician and hard/soft-ware developer based in South Wales. My projects revolve around listening and musical composition. My interests fall in improvisation, musical non-linearity and new interfaces and approaches for composing music.
I have a real itch for circuit bending, which is the modification of electronic toys and devices. I’m not an electronics expert and almost everything I know has come from experience - I probably enjoy poking around in Yamaha keyboard guts a little bit too much, but who’s to say! I use my modified toys for sampling glitches for music and I also intend to work some of them into live performance sometime soon!
Out of circuit bending has come a new interest for building simple synthesizers from scratch using simple square waves and feedback, I am currently designing a number of low-cost instruments and effects that I hope to put into manufacture one day, I have some way to go yet though!
My most successful work to date has been my software series Cyclic, it is now at version 2.2 on Mac OS X and in beta at 2.0 on Windows XP. You can download this software from the Cyclic page on this site!
